It was a busy past few months at Monroe Harding! As our programs continue to grow, the need for continued support and engagement grows. Here are a few ways that you can get involved right now!

Highlights to Share – We love celebrating our youth and families and want to give you a snapshot of some of the good things happening at Monroe Harding. This month we celebrated seven young people earning their high school diplomas, we had a young man be adopted by his foster parents and three children reunified with their family. To top it off, we have ten families currently participating in our foster parent training classes, any many want to serve teenagers!

Supportive Housing Expansion – We announced last month that our supportive housing program is growing, and we still need items to help us “Stock the House.” The response was great, and we raised about $5,000 so far and are over halfway there with stocking the house. Many people purchased items straight from the wish list. Thank you for your support! If you would like to contribute in some way, you can click here to see our wish list of needs or here to donate.

Fostering Joy – Fostering Joy is our annual fundraiser to benefit those youth and families we serve. While we will miss gathering together this year, we hope that you can still be a part of the event in a way that fits best for you. This is not your ordinary online event and we need your help to spread the word! Here are three ways that you can be involved:

1. Send an email with the program and auction link – Even though we can’t meet in person, you can invite family and friends to view the program and participate in the silent and live auctions. We will have an email template for you to use that will include a link to purchase tickets to view the program and register for the silent and live auctions.

2. Host a virtual viewing party – Create your own online viewing party by gathering a group of friends and family online. We will have a link for guests to buy tickets and register for the silent and live auctions. Have a good time together catching up and talking about silent auction items and then view the program together via screen share. Sharing your personal experience with Monroe Harding is always impactful!

3. Host a small gathering – Based on your comfort level you can bring together a small group friends who have become your “quarenteam” for a night to celebrate Monroe Harding. Visit the Events Page to learn more and purchase a ticket and feel free to email events@monroeharding.org with questions.

Lunch and Learn – Join us at next virtual Lunch and Learns next Wednesday, July 22 or Thursday, Aug 20. This is great time to meet staff and hear a brief update about programs and services. With the addition of our Opportunity Now Reengagement Hub and Works Wonders, we have a lot of great things happening at Monroe Harding. Email events@monroeharding.org to RSVP.
